WHEEL BALANCING

Forming part of our services, wheel balancing remains an important consideration for all motorists. This type of maintenance should be performed at least once every 10,000km, in order to prolong the lifespan of your tyres. While many people think that wheel alignment and balancing are the same thing, there are some important differences.

While wheel alignment makes sure that all tyres sit at the appropriate angles on the road, wheel balancing helps to avoid unnecessary vibrations in the steering wheel or floorboards, brought on by the uneven distribution of weight on the vehicle’s wheel units. In an effort to ensure equal load distribution on all four sides of the car’s wheels, small counter weights are used to balance out high and low spots.

Wheel balancing enables tyres to spin without causing any vibrations and is required every time tyres are fitted or dismounted for repair. During wheel balancing, your wheels will be diagnosed by a special machine and then balanced by affixing weights to the rim.

These are only a few of the many tyre fitment services that you can expect from etyres.ng . Contact us today to learn more about us, and for all the advice you will need to stay safer on the road. We look forward to helping you enjoy excellent value for money and great returns on your tyre investments.

WHEEL ALIGNMENT

Wheel alignment forms part of our service offering. It is a type of maintenance crucial for optimising the lifespan of tyres, and it also has a significant bearing on the vehicle’s handling and the occupants’ safety. There are many benefits to having etyres.ng take care of your wheels’ alignment, including:

  • - Improving your vehicle’s overall handling and performance;
  • - Reducing the wear and tear of uneven tyres;
  • - Increasing fuel economy and mileage; and
  • - Stopping steering-wheel vibrations.

Wheel alignment consists of adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are set to the car manufacturer’s specifications. Potholes or bumping a curb are some of the many reasons a car’s wheel alignment may need to be corrected. This procedure reduces tyre wear and ensures that the vehicle drives straight.

These are only a few of the many reasons why it pays to partner with a seasoned industry professional to take care of your wheels’ alignment.

etyres.ng tyre fitment centres nationwide are able to offer their customers these services, ensuring that your wheels are in top condition for the road.

TYRE ROTATION

ROTATE YOUR TYRES TO BEAT WEAR AND TEAR: Tyre wear and tear is natural part of driving, unfortunately. Since most cars are front-engine cars, the front axle bears more weight than the rear axle. This means your front tyres wear quicker than your back tyres.

There are also other causes of uneven wear, like:

1. Turning left. Most interchanges and parking ramps require you to turn left. Left turns are tighter than right turns, causing your right front tyre to wear out faster than the left.
2. Sidewall damage. The sidewalls on your left tyres are more likely to get bumped and rubbed against the pavement when parking your car. This can cause asymmetric sidewall wear.
3. Braking. Heavy, sudden and frequent braking can add stress to your front tyres.

What then can you do about this?

Rotating your tyres will help ensure even tread wear, allowing them to last longer. Rotation entails swopping the back and front tyres around first, and then swopping the left and right front tyres.

Depending on the type of car you drive, we typically recommend you do this every 10,000 km.

Contact etyres.ng today for the best tyre rotation services.
